Over 40 years’ experience in technical, management, training and consulting roles in the UK and Asia.

Specialising in Marine Electrical, Boat Design as well as IT with extensive experience of specifying and installing electrical, data, and electronic systems, on boats and on land. I have a long background in Engineering team management with additional direct  responsibility for purchasing and sourcing. I have extensive 3D CAD (Rhino 3D/ORCA3D) , hull design and electrical system design experience.

Drawing on my experience with marine electrical propulsion systems and as a National Expert for the BSI, representing British Marine on ISO TC188 working groups re-drafting boat electrical standards used in the EU Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) and the UK’s Recreational Craft Regulations (RCR) we are able to offer marine electrical systems compliance assessments, design, and consulting to RCD requirements.

Boyde Marine focusses on providing technical and consulting services to the marine industry. I am a full Member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and am certified as a marine electrical technician both in the UK and the US.

I sit on the committees of British Marine Inland and British Marine Electrical and Electronics Association (BMEEA) as well as the Boat Safety Scheme Advisory and Technical Forums
